SEVENTEEN:

Seventeen is a South Korean boy band formed by Pledis Entertainment in 2015. The group consists of thirteen members: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. Seventeen gained popularity for their unique concept of being a "self-producing" idol group, as the members actively participate in writing, composing, and producing their own music.



Debut and Early Years:

Seventeen made their official debut on May 26, 2015, with their first extended play (EP) titled "17 Carat." The EP featured the title track "Adore U," which garnered attention for its catchy melody and youthful charm. The group quickly gained a dedicated fan base, known as Carats, and went on to release their second EP, "Boys Be," later that year. It included the hit single "Mansae" and showcased their energetic and synchronized performances.


Rise to Fame:

In 2016, Seventeen released their first studio album, "Love & Letter," which included the title track "Pretty U." The album achieved commercial success and solidified their position in the industry. Later that year, they also released a repackage of the album titled "Love & Letter Repackage Album," featuring the popular single "Very Nice."

Seventeen continued to build their discography with subsequent EPs and albums, including "Going Seventeen" (2016), "Teen, Age" (2017), and "An Ode" (2019). They consistently showcased their versatility through different musical styles, from upbeat tracks like "Clap" and "Don't wanna cry" to emotional ballads like "Smile Flower."

International Recognition and World Tours:

Seventeen's popularity extended beyond South Korea, and they began gaining international recognition. They embarked on multiple world tours, including "Diamond Edge" in 2017 and "Ode to You" in 2019, which took them to various countries and allowed them to connect with their global fan base.

In 2020, Seventeen released their seventh EP, "Heng:garæ," with the lead single "Left & Right." The EP showcased a more mature sound and received critical acclaim. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Seventeen adapted by holding online concerts and engaging with fans through virtual events.

Recent achievements:

Seventeen's success continued to soar in recent years. In 2021, they released their eighth EP, "Your Choice," featuring the title track "Ready to Love." The EP achieved impressive sales and chart performance, solidifying their position as one of the top boy groups in the K-pop industry.

The group has also been recognized for their talent and contributions. They have won numerous awards, including multiple Golden Disk Awards, Seoul music awards and Mnet asian music awards. Seventeen's synchronized performances, intricate choreography, and involvement in the creative process have garnered praise from both fans and industry professionals
